We get to know each other in a personal conversation. We meet at the place of your choice and discover if a collaboration can be envisioned. The story of your life and its meaning may start to flow like a natural water-spring. We talk about your ideas regarding the portrait film. We outline how these ideas can be realized. We explain our approach, the time frame and the resources needed and agree on the approach and costs.
We create a schedule, the story board and the film shooting sequences. And then we start: we conduct interviews with you, record them. We may record sound or image, or opt to record when you feel ready for it. Cameras take some getting used to it.
We then compile the digital material into a film. You review the editing of the first version of the film and may modify any statements made. Once the second draft is done, you approve the 'final cut' and give us the ok for the final version.
Depending on your availability and the length of the movie, the duration of the process varies. Most of our clients get a movie 2-4 months after the first conversation.
The final film version will be sent to you electronically in duplicate. As a backup, we keep a copy on our records for another month. You may opt for us deleting all recorded material or us keeping some/all of it for further possible uses.
